On Thursday the 6th, the French band La Femme opened their Europe and UK tour at The Academy in Dublin, Ireland. While mingling through the audience before the concert began, I noticed an equal amount of both Irish and French fans amped up to hear some of their favorite music. The psychedelic rock band ran onto the stage and immediately the room became pumped up and ready to rock. A nod to the location was noted and certainly appreciated in their attire which included paddy caps and the color green, it is March after all!

The lay out of The Academy provided a great backdrop to their set. The two floor, half circle shape  of the house contained lights that made stunning visuals thanks to the band’s lighting team. The strategic use of colors and pulses enhanced the sound and created a cinematic mise-en-scène.

ey transitioned incredibly from song to song, only stopping to banter with the audience a short few times, but there was no need for extensive conversation as their music and their performance did that for them. Of the eight members on stage that night, not one of them stopped grooving and giving their performance everything they had all night. Their chemistry with each other was evident from the farthest corner of the room as they danced and hyped each other up. If you’re in search of a concert that has purely good vibes, I recommend catching La Femme on the rest of their Europe & UK Tour this year.
