One of Dublin's top music venues, The Academy, was filled to the brim with generations of fans all excited to rock out to Alabama 3. The British band, no they're not from Alabama and yes there are more than three of them, kicked off the night with a classic, "Hotel California". From the first drum beat the audience was hooked, grooving along to the band's unique yet textbook take on the classic, cultivating an archetypal vibe for the night.

Alabama 3 exuded such great stage presence, from the costumes, to the banter between each other and the audience, and to the pacing of their set. You might have longed to top up your drink but found you couldn't get your eyes off these incredible musicians. They performed on International Women's Day and, as there were six men and only one woman on stage, it was refreshing to hear vocalist Rob Spragg aka "Larry Love" acknowledge the day and the importance of women in music. As I often find myself being one of very few female photographers in the pit at concerts, which was the case at this show, it was encouraging to hear their remarks on the day in keeping with the light hearted energy of the night.

Their country acid house style kept fans engaged all night long and constantly wanting more.
